This series of images is a comment on the inordinate ubiquity of surveillance in today’s society. By photographing unknown pedestrians, Lambrou is provoking a level of anxiety and leading the audience to think about who is watching them on a daily basis. She creates a disconnection between the viewer and subject that causes them to feel a sense of unease from ‘watching’ them with out the passers- by knowing. These photographs have been taken on 35mm film to give the aesthetic of CCTV footage and indicate the purpose of the project.
